This Ferrocerium Firesteel with Wooden Handle and Leather Sleeve are designed to be a reliable companion for you whenever you venture out into the outdoors, combining a clean and elegant design with rugged functionality. The firesteel is ½ an inch (12.7mm) thick and over 6.75 inches (171.4mm) long, enough to last decades and start thousands of fires. The rod is set in a 2 inch long solid oak handle soaked in Danish Oil. The rod is then nestled into an ergonomic sleeve constructed from extremely durable and resilient Kodiak oil tanned leather, and hand stitched with a high tensile strength, braided polyester thread. The oil tanning of the Kodiak leather prevents water from penetrating the leather, preventing your firesteel from corroding, and the tough leather will protect other items in your pocket or backpack from being damaged by the metal rod. We are confident that this bushcraft tool will serve you for many years to come.
