Description
This axe holster is designed to help you carry any axe of a reasonable size on your belt or backpack. It is made out of full-grain vegetable-tanned cowhide and then stained with a dark brown stain. The leather is treated with Fiebings Mink Oil (available from us here).
The holster is constructed out of one piece of leather, which reduces seams and allows the connection to only have three layers of leather. Four fully brass rivets are placed to hold the holster together as you can see in the photos. This holster is built to last, and hand crafted with quality in the USA (Spokane, Washington). Finish to the edges of the leather is applied for aesthetic appeal.
Important: this axe holster does not include an axe as displayed in some of the images.
IF you plan on ordering an axe handle guard from our shop, please size-up your selection by one size, unless you are ordering a large holster to start with. For example, if you were going to purchase the medium holster for your axe, but you also want to get an axe handle guard for it, size up to a large on the holster.
We designed several holster sizes to accommodate a variety of axes. Please make sure to look at the available sizes below, and choose the size that will fit your axe. When checking dimensions, please be sure that both the shoulder of your axe and the knob (or palm swell) of your axe will fit:

I received one of these and a collar guard as gifts from my wife for my Gränsfors Bruk Scandinavian Forest Axe. This is a simple, well-made, tough-as-nails piece of craftsmanship. I softened mine up just a bit with some Obenauf’s LP Boot Preservative. I use that on everything leather I own. My axe fits the holster even with the collar guard on. I have been impressed with the quality of workmanship of these two products and plan to try a few more of their items.

Just received this axe holster to be used with the Gransfors Bruks Outdoor Axe. Handle fits perfectly with room to spare. Belt loop can take a 1.5 inch belt which covers most any rugged outdoor belt. Excellent craftsmanship and came well packaged.

Small axes are very handy when clearing woods after wind storms, or anytime tree felling work is going on. Small axes are almost always needed in addition to chainsaws, but often in the way until needed. That’s where holsters come into play. This ROG holster is very well designed and professionally assembled. It functions flawlessly and looks great. None of the holsters (by other makers) that I’ve tried lasted longer than a season or two because they fell apart after repeatedly getting wet even though they’d been well cared for and regularly cleaned and conditioned. This one looks like it will perform well for a good long while and is highly recommended. If you ever need or want a holster for ease of carrying your small axe, without needing a spare hand, this is the one I’m counting on to get that job done.

I have these for Gransfors small hatchet, wildlife hatchet and small forest axe. Also have one for Estwing e14a. I use small for small hatchet and estwing and large for other two. These are too notch pieces of leather and soften up nicely with use. I’ve carried the small first axe for long distances and it is very comfortable.
