Description
This sheath is designed specifically and exactly for the Gränsfors Bruk Mini (or Small) Hatchet. It is made out of full-grain vegetable-tanned cowhide and then stained with the appropriate color. The leather is treated with Fiebings Mink Oil (available from us here). Gransfors Bruk Mini Hatchet Custom Leather Sheath
This sheath will keep your Gransfors Bruk Mini (or Small) Hatchet safe from being dulled by contacting other items in your pack and from cutting through other materials.
The construction of the sheath starts with three pieces of leather: the main body of the sheath, the securing strap and the welt. The main body is folded over a welt that is inserted between the two folded halves which prevents the blade of the inserted axe from cutting the stitch that is placed to hold the sheath together. The sheath is then hand stitched and rivets are placed at the corners to reinforce the body. The axe head blade, when placed into the sheath, is prevented from touching the rivets or the stitching because of the welt. The retention strap is then secured with a rivet and a snap is added for easy on/off action. This sheath is built to last, and quality hand made in the USA (Spokane, Washington). Finish to the edges of the leather is applied for aesthetic appeal. The color of the leather may vary, and may be a darker or lighter. There may also be slight variations in the evenness of color distribution on the sheath.

Good leather, excellent craftsmanship and perfect fit. Well worth the upgrade from Gransfors’ standard cover; which works, but this one matches the quality of the GB much better. Probably the best of all the upgrade sheaths I found… very well done.
Had a small glitch getting the right holster for this little unit, but Eugene jumped on it, made it right just fine. Good people. Stand behind their stuff.
